Audi Service and Repair in Portland, OR

The Audi company was re-established in 1965, following its dissolution after WWII. Heckmann & Thiemann Motors was born in Portland, Oregon in 1968. The first Audi automobiles made their way to the United States in 1969. These vehicles were initially sold through Volkswagen and Porsche dealerships.

In 1978, the Audi Sport Department was established. In the autumn of 1981 Michele Mouton, driving an Audi Quattro, became the first woman ever to win the San Remo World Championship Rally. Audi began selling the Quattro to the public in 1982 as the world’s first ever full-time all-wheel drive passenger car. In 1985, Michele and her Quattro shattered the Pikes Peak Hill Climb record. This record was shattered again in 1987 when Walter Röhrl, behind the wheel of his Quattro, ran Pikes Peak in under eleven minutes. These wins, along with numerous other championship achievements cemented Audi as a manufacturer of performance oriented all-wheel drive passenger cars.
