I reserve yelp reviews for exceptionally excellent, or exceptionally terrible experiences. Long story: Last year I brought my Eurovan in for service after my check engine light came on and started flashing. It turned into a huge job, and all of my fuel injectors had to be replaced, along with spark plugs and a bunch of other pricey VW crap. $2500 later, the car was running fine. Until ..... the light returned a few months later. I brought the car back in, and the woman I spoke to was incredibly rude to me and told me she might be able to hook it up to a diagnostics in a few days, and that I had to pay. After dropping that kind of cash, I felt I was mistreated and that as a courtesy they could just do me a solid and take a look free of charge in a more expeditious manner. Nope, never going back there I thought. Last week (a year later) I learned that my new fuel injectors (#1 and #4) were misfiring. While the work that was done by Heckmann and Thiemann was exceeded the 12K / 12 mos warranty, I was curious if they'd be able to take a look. The shop had since moved to its new location on 20th, and it appeared that there were several new people working there. I spoke with someone named Sam, explained the situation and he said, "we are happy to make this right, we'd like to earn your business back." He was kind and genuine and I could tell he felt badly for the experience I had last year. He called me the following day with an update, that the injectors were fine and there were some lose caps (or something like that I don't speak VW) and I was low on transmission fluid so they filled it up and the car is running great and I could come pick it up anytime and there was no charge. I picked up the car today, it was sparkling clean thanks to another very kind person named Bob and running like a dream. The point of this long winded yelp review is that I think everyone deserves a second chance. I am very pleased that this shop was able to help me out on a human level, and they are undoubtedly known for doing great work. I own a Sprinter and will be bringing it to H&T as they have my business back. If you have hankering for pain in the ass foreign cars, these are your guys.
